How to Book a Disney Vacation Club Villa Without Owning Points
October 13, 2026 · 5 min read
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is Disney’s timeshare program, and its resorts have some of the best rooms at Walt Disney World — studios with kitchenettes and villas with full kitchens, washers and dryers, and separate bedrooms. Many people assume you need to own points to stay in one. You don’t.
You can book DVC villas like any hotel room
Disney sells DVC rooms for cash through its normal resort reservations, just like Value, Moderate, and Deluxe hotel rooms. You pick the resort, room type, and dates, and pay the nightly rate. You get the same room a member would — the only difference is how you pay.
Which resorts have villas?
DVC villas are spread across Walt Disney World, including Bay Lake Tower, the Villas at the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek at Wilderness Lodge, the Beach Club and BoardWalk Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas (Jambo House and Kidani Village), Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Riviera, and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Disney’s new Lakeshore Lodge, opening July 2027, is a DVC resort too.
When is a villa worth it?
- Bigger families: one- and two-bedroom villas sleep more people than a standard hotel room, often for less than two rooms.
- Longer stays: a kitchen and in-villa laundry save money and hassle after a few days.
- Separate spaces: a bedroom door means kids can sleep while adults stay up.
- Studios are a good middle ground: usually priced near Deluxe hotel rooms, with a kitchenette.
Things to know before you book
- Housekeeping at villa resorts can be lighter than at a regular hotel, so check what’s included for your stay.
- Villa inventory available for cash is limited, especially for larger villas and popular dates.
- Discounts sometimes apply to villa rooms booked for cash, so it’s worth comparing rates.
Because cash inventory for villas is limited, the room you want can disappear quickly. Search the villa resorts for your dates, and set an alert if they’re full — we’ll let you know the moment one opens up.
