Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge: Opening Date, Rooms, Dining & How to Book
October 13, 2026 · 6 min read
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is Walt Disney World’s first all-new resort since Disney’s Riviera Resort opened in 2019, and reservations are already open. Here’s what we know about the resort, its rooms, and how to get the stay you want before opening-summer dates fill up.
When does Lakeshore Lodge open?
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge opens on July 1, 2027. Reservations opened in phases in October 2026 — first to Disney Vacation Club Members, then Annual Passholders, then all guests — so anyone can book now for stays from opening day on.
Where is it?
The resort sits on the shore of Bay Lake between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, on the site of the former River Country water park. That puts it in the Magic Kingdom resort area, with boat service to Magic Kingdom and Disney buses to the other parks.
The theme
Lakeshore Lodge is a nature-themed resort. Its room types draw on Disney films that celebrate the outdoors — Pocahontas, Bambi, Encanto, Fantasia, and Brother Bear — and parts of the resort look out toward Cinderella Castle and the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Room types
It’s a Disney Vacation Club resort with roughly 967 rooms, but anyone can book it for cash like a regular hotel. The mix runs from hotel-style rooms to large villas:
- Resort Studios (King sleeps 2; Queen sleeps 4) — hotel-style rooms with a mini fridge and microwave.
- Duo Studios (sleep 2) and Deluxe Studios (sleep 4).
- One-, two-, and three-bedroom villas, sleeping up to 5, 9, and 12.
- One- and two-bedroom Lake Houses — freestanding A-frames on Bay Lake with full kitchens, exclusive to this resort.
- Select Resort Studios include club level access to The Artist’s Nest lounge.
Dining and pools
Announced dining includes Moonglade (table service), Bay Lake Provisions (quick service), Paint Out Point Bar & Grill by the pool, Branch & Brush (cocktail lounge), and Dandelion Terrace, a lounge with fireworks views. The main pool, Lakeshore Lagoon, is a zero-entry pool with a spiral water slide, plus a quieter leisure pool.
How to book Lakeshore Lodge (and what it costs)
Launch rates start at around $500 a night for the smallest studios and climb steeply for villas and Lake Houses. New resorts rarely get discounts right away, but room offers usually arrive once the resort is open and demand settles.
- If you want opening summer, book early — the first weeks of a new resort are in high demand.
- If you’re flexible, book a refundable reservation now and re-price it if a discount applies later.
- Lake Houses have very limited inventory. If you want one, book as soon as your dates are set.
- Our travel advisors can book Lakeshore Lodge for you at the same price as booking with Disney.
